This recipe crafts delicious Cambodian-inspired grilled beef skewers, featuring a homemade kreung lemongrass paste that infuses the thinly sliced beef with vibrant, aromatic flavors. The beef is marinated overnight in a savory and sweet blend, ensuring each bite is packed with depth.

Ingredients
- 2 bulbs of garlic
- 1 cup of lemongrass
- 3 thin slices of galangal
- 4 lime leaves
- 3 thin slices of turmeric
- 2 tbsp of chicken bouillon powder
-
3 tbsp of Red Boat Fish Sauce
-
4lbs of beef
-
3 tbsp of sugar
-
1 tbsp of oyster sauce
-
1 bag of roast pork seasoning powder mix (100g)
-
1/3 cup of neutral oil
Directions
Create a kreung lemongrass paste by blending garlic, lemongrass, galangal, lime leaves, and turmeric
Cut beef into thin slices
Place the beef into a large mixing bowl. Add the kreung lemongrass paste, chicken bouillon powder, sugar, oyster sauce,, bag of roast pork seasoning powder mix, neutral oil, and Red Boat Fish Sauce.
Thoroughly mix these ingredients together. Let this rest in the refrigerator overnight.
The next day, soak a bunch of skewer sticks in water to prevent burning when you grill it. Use these sticks to skewer each piece of meat in a back and forth motion.
Grill each skewer for 5-10 minutes on med-high heat. Flip it every 2 min until it gets a nice char.
Enjoy this with pickled veggies, lettuce, and a bowl of warm rice.
