Red Boat Fish Sauce is made using the same two ingredients — black anchovy and aged sea salt — and the same artisanal process for the last 200 years. Needless to say, the traditional recipe does not include any preservatives, flavor enhancers, or or other adulterants. Our commitment to producing the world's purest fish sauce is possible because of three unique characteristics

1. Wild Caught Anchovies

The primary ingredient in Red Boat is select fresh wild-caught anchovies from the crystal clear waters off the islands of the Phu Quoc Archipelago. We use only black anchovy (ca com in Vietnamese) to lend a unique character and superior flavor to our nước mắm nhi.

2. Phu Quoc Climate 

A centuries-old traditional method of slow fermentation in large wood barrels to achieve the smoothest, richest, and sweetest flavor.

3. Patience

We bottle only pure first press “extra virgin” fish sauce. With Red Boat, you are getting an amber elixir that is made of just two all natural ingredients: fresh wild caught anchovy and sea salt.
